Australia Cooking Course students get Australian PR.

Students mostly apply for accounting course secondly to cooking courses. And there is a big shortage for cooks in Australia, those students easily become cooks and get their Australian PR through the Australia's skilled migration program.

From the year 2004 to 2008 overseas students enrolled in cookery courses raised to 8242 from 1019, according to the study. Total enrolments of overseas students were 65,120 in 2005 and last year 2008 was 173,432. Many people believe those students who finish the cooking course don't work in the kitchen once they receive their PR status.

Overseas cookery students who received their Australian permanent residence status increased rapidly in the recent years. It was 951 in 2006 and last year 2008 was 3251.
This year January 2009 the Australian Government published the list of occupations in which Australia has skills shortage and in that list cooking is included.

Any how foreign students who are studying cooking can achieve permanent residence by working 900 hours for an employer, then having that employer sponsor their migration by working for them for another 12 months. This can be as menial as kitchen hand and waiting work.
