Australia Student Visas.

Australian Goverment has announced that foreign students who are going to study there can work as part time for 20 hours per week with out getting any permission from the authorities. This will come in to force from this Saturday 26 April 2008.

There is no need for a visa label in the student passport to confirm their immigration status and visa entitlements in Australia except for Chinese students who will need a label in their passports.

Earlier Students paid a total sum of $490 for student visa and a separate permission to work. Now there will be no need to apply for a separate permission to work application.

Now a student will pay a sum of $450 for student visa and once it approved the student automatically will get the work permission from 26 April 2008.

Those students who earlier got the student visa are advised to get the permission after applyinf to the authorities for a work permission.
The law will allow a foreign student to work 20 hours to work part time while his/her course is in progress.
And can work unlimited hours during scheduled course breaks.

Students or family members of the students can not work until the students have started their course.
Family members of students who have started a masters or doctorate course may work unlimited hours.
There is a big labour shortage in Australian industries according to reports.
